What do you do if after a break-up you start to have those longing feelings for your ex again? What if you never wanted to break up in the first place?

Here’s how to start the process of getting over an ex:

Stay off of social media
Resist the urge to stalk them and try to figure out what they are up to now. This will only serve to keep your feelings and painful memories alive.

Get rid of reminders
If you have some of their things, return them. If you have their pictures around, put them away. Try to eliminate reminders that will keep them on your mind.

Don’t go out of your way to “run into” them
Even the planning involved in staging a “run in” is keeping you from focusing on healing your own wounds and moving on.

Start planning your future without them
Start focusing on yourself. What do you like to do for fun? What are some future events you can plan and look forward to? What would a nice future without them look like? Let your thoughts move in that direction.

How to Get Your Ex Back In The Future:

1. Watch This Video On How To Get Your Ex Back
This guy is a relationship expert and walks you through, step-by-step, how to get your ex back. Take the time to see what he suggests.

2. Go “No Contact” For Awhile
Don’t check in. Don’t stalk social media. Take a month or so off. No contact can help an ex miss you and feel the full weight of the hole that is left when you’re not together. It also creates curiosity about what you’re doing and who you might be seeing or talking to.

3. Don’t Post Negative or Dramatic Posts On Social Media
The message you want to send is that you’re fine. You’re stable. Dramatic or negative posts will drive an ex further away.

Other things to consider:

  1. Are They Good For You?
Try to think about this logically. Does this person really help you become your best self?
  2. Who’s Idea Was The Break-up?
Who wanted the break-up more? You are your ex? If you were the one who initiated the break-up then it might be easier to mend the relationship again.
